Through the G DOC nursing service GP surgeries can access expert nurses without the costs of recruitment or difficulties in retention.
Our nurses provide specialist long-term condition management (as well as general practice nursing), reducing the workload of practice clinicians. Our nurses can also provide training for practice nurses to help ensure that practices meet QOF targets and CQC standards.
GP surgeries can either self-fund the nursing service or, if eligible, can apply via the ‘parachute’ nursing service.
Gloucestershire ICB funds our ‘parachute’ nursing service for practices with staffing gaps, for example if a practice nurse is sick.
