Gloucester Health Access Centre runs a Non-Registered service.
This GP led service is held at Gloucester Health Access Centre in Quayside House, Quay Street, Gloucester (GL1 2TZ) and is open 7 days a week.
Opening hours
The unregistered service is open 7 days a week, 8am to 8pm, including bank holidays.
Who can use the Non-Registered service?
Anyone can attend the Non-Registered service.
This includes:
- People who are not registered with a GP surgery.
- People who are registered with a GP surgery but are unable to access an appointment at their own GP surgery. (You will remain registered with your own GP as normal)
How to book an appointment
Patients are seen on an appointment only basis, to book an appointment please call 01452 336290
What can be seen in the Non-Registered service
The service is suitable for patients needing a one-off consultation, usually about a new problem or a longstanding problem that has got worse (for example if you have asthma, and having a cold is making it worse). We cannot arrange investigations (blood tests/x-rays) or outpatient referrals.
Typical conditions treated include:
- Infectious illness: coughs, flu etc
- Childhood illness, as long as the child is awake and alert (please seek emergency help if not)
- Skin problems such as rashes, bites, stings and infections
The GHAC Non-Registered service is not suitable for the following:
- Emergencies e.g. chest pain, shortness of breath, severe abdominal pain
- Injuries or medical problems that may require an x-ray or blood test.
- Injuries that need stitches or dressings
- Problems likely to need an outpatient referral e.g. a breast lump
- Ongoing issues that need follow up, including medication reviews
- Mental health problems, as these need care by your own GP (although people with mental illness can of course come to GHAC about other issues)
Patients from the UK who have run out of their regular medicine should usually contact their own practice. In emergencies, GHAC can issue a short-term supply to cover until their practice next opens, but we cannot issue controlled drugs (other than in really exceptional circumstances such as end of life care).
Important: Please note
Home visits are not available to non-registered patients.
